HERE’S OUR STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE
A typical corrugated iron, zincalume, ColourBond or tiled roof has no special heat resistant barrier applied.
During the course of the day, here’s what happens:
1.
The sun rises and direct sunlight is absorbed by your roof material and heat is radiated into your roof cavity. This heat transfers into your living spaces through your ceiling
2.
Your home is now hot due to the heat load on your roof, and the roof cavity stays hot even as the sun sets. It’s a very sticky situation if you have experienced it before.
3.
During the evening heat is transferred to the cooler night air, however, this process happens very slowly and you will not be able to truly enjoy your night’s sleep.
4.
By the time the roof cavity returns to ambient temperature, the sun rises again, heating up your roof cavity and your home all over again and you go through each step again.
How This Helps You?
Applying a heat reflective coating will reduce house temperature more effectively in the summer than traditional in ceiling insulation as it stops heat at the source.
The suns radiant heat will now be reflected away from your roof and not absorbed into your roof cavity, keeping you cool and comfortable all day and night. The heat reflective coating also protects and extends the life of your roof for many years to come.
